Guess whos back…fresh off a frustrating layoff due to proper medical precaution, Virgil Zwicker looks to take out some that built up stress on his next target.  Guto Inocente is a brazilian cardio machine, who has gained much recognition among the MMA community. These two fighters are big for the 205 cut so they both will have the power to push the pace and bring the heavy knock out blows. The last year has been a battle for both fighters equally eager to return to the cage, both suffering horribly timed injuries. Virgil Zwicker was forced out of his main event bout with Lorenz Larkin at the peak of his training, 20+ lbs lighter and in better shape than peers had  seen in ten years. Guto Inocente was also sidelined by injury weeks prior to his long awaited debut in Strikeforce, with Lionel Lanham.  Both men looking for a jump start to there already promising careers this can turn in to a fight of the night or knock out of the night! This all on a huge night of fights, with a stacked card. The Strikeforce Heavy Weight Grand Prix finals. Live May 19 at HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif and on Showtime around the world.

Brett Albee gets a knee to the head by 'Virgil Rez Dog' Zwicker

Fresh off the commanding victory over Brett Albee at Strikeforce San Diego, Virgil “the Rez Dog” Zwicker returned back to the gym to help coach and mentor Dan Henderson prepare for his blockbuster bout with Fedor Emelianenko. Exchanging blows with Hendo is not everyone’s idea of a day at the office, but for the Rez Dog its everyday business. Training at Team Quest for the majority of his fight career has given Zwicker the opportunity to be in the gym with top-level athletes on a daily basis like fellow teammates Dave Herman, Jesse Taylor, Sam Alvey and Fernando Gonzalez. He often gets the call to participate in camps with other fighters and has become a familiar face up at Vladimir Matyushenko’s gym (VMAT), training with the “Janitor” himself and his boys Jared Hamman and Antoni Hardonk.

Strikeforce has given Zwicker the nod once again to come in and face undefeated rising star Lorenz Larkin for the main event bout September 23, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The bout is at light heavy weight and we will finally get an opportunity to see Zwicker have his hand at Strikeforce’s rising 205 roster. The only losses on the Team Quest fighters’ record come in the heavy weight division were he was out-weighed significantly in both fights. Never turning his back on a challenge he took the risk and now he is ready to make a statement in the light heavy weight division.

Both fighters Larkin (11-0) and Zwicker (10-2) lean heavy on their stand up game knockouts and finishing fights by referee stoppage seemed to be their forte. Both fighters have eight KO/TKO stoppages tallied on the stat sheets as this bout looks to be a war. The Rez Dog’s warrior mentality and ever-growing fan base has caught the eye of Zuffa and has secured him a multi-fight contract. Tune into Showtime for the battle on September 23 at Strikeforce Challengers 19 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
