The Return of the Rez Dog

Guess whos back…fresh off a frustrating layoff due to proper medical precaution, Virgil Zwicker looks to take out some that built up stress on his next target.  Guto Inocente is a brazilian cardio machine, who has gained much recognition among the MMA community. These two fighters are big for the 205 cut so they both will have the power to push the pace and bring the heavy knock out blows. The last year has been a battle for both fighters equally eager to return to the cage, both suffering horribly timed injuries. Virgil Zwicker was forced out of his main event bout with Lorenz Larkin at the peak of his training, 20+ lbs lighter and in better shape than peers had  seen in ten years. Guto Inocente was also sidelined by injury weeks prior to his long awaited debut in Strikeforce, with Lionel Lanham.  Both men looking for a jump start to there already promising careers this can turn in to a fight of the night or knock out of the night! This all on a huge night of fights, with a stacked card. The Strikeforce Heavy Weight Grand Prix finals. Live May 19 at HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif and on Showtime around the world.

Sports Corner: Sucker punch or revenge?

Mayweather Vs Ortiz

Floyd Mayweather sucker punch or revenge?  Did Victor Ortiz blatant head butt warrant an undefended head attack?  Late in the fourth round with seconds remaining Ortiz resorted to a head butt which seemed to be thrown out of frustration.  He was given a technical foul, a point was taken away, and he immediately apologized for his actions.  Mayweather seemed to forgive Ortiz only to sucker punch him and viciously knock out the defenseless fighter.  The referee seemed to asked if the time was in to the side officials never seeing the first sucker punch only the finishing blow.  Victor probably deserved some form of aggressive reaction but the ending was not the best way to go about it.  If you can win with dignity, you should. The unnecessary actions were deemed legal based on the “protect yourself at all times” rule.  Victor Ortiz apparently accepted the outcome but then again who forgets to smile on a couple million dollar payday. Mayweather on the other hand always smiles when he boxes because his payday often exceeds fifty to seventy million dollars a fight.  Biggest problem with the fight is that the fans pay the price, Pay-Per-View’s are roughly $60.00 and Floyd continues to avoid Pacquiao which is the fight fans want.  He was winning the bout with Ortiz easily on points but it didn’t seem he was hurting the young fighter all that much.  Mayweather could have easily avoided the bad publicity, but it seems more often then not he enjoys it too much to do so.  Most recent reports assure that Pacquiao is willing to commit to the Olympic drug testing policies that Floyd and his camp demand.  What’s the next excuse?
